Access Statement

The Beacons Guest House is close (less than 5 minutes walk) to the town centre and bus stops.

We welcome enquiries from disabled guests and we are happy to discuss any additional requirements you may have

The Beacons has hosted groups of guests with learning disabilities and we have a positive approach to special requirements in this area.

Fridge space for medication is always available if required.

We adopt a no-smoking policy throughout the establishment.

Access to the Guest House is either through the front door, which has a slight threshold, or from the large private car park, which has uneven ground – again the back door, has a slight threshold.

The ground floor is level with a ramp to the dining room and the office, which is carpeted. We have a small bar, which has two small steps leading down to it, again this is carpeted.

There are no downstairs WC facilities. The ground floor bedrooms have level access over a threshold and level access to en-suite facilities.

The rooms however have insufficient space to allow easy wheelchair use and some independent mobility is necessary to access the shower/bath and toilet.

Our remaining rooms are situated on the first and second floor. This is reached via a large carpeted sweeping Georgian staircase.

The landings and corridors are well lit for ease of mobility during the night. There are fire doors to negotiate.

Assistance dogs are the only pets welcome in our ground floor bedrooms including the breakfast room and bar.

All rooms have kettles and tea/coffee making facilities, hairdryers, colour TVs and radios.
